Back Copies – how to find a backdated newspaper
If you are looking for yesterday’s newspaper or any recent newspaper from the past
nine months, www.backissuenewspapers.co.uk is the website to come to. We provide
the UK’s most comprehensive back issue service for national and Scottish newspapers.
It could not be simpler to order back copies of newspapers online.
Demand for Yesterday’s Newspapers
There always seems to be a need to buy recent newspapers after the date of publication.
Once the newsagents have taken them off the shelves, how do you find the back issue
newspaper you need? The newsagents don’t keep a copy, nor (usually) do the newspaper
groups, many of which direct such enquiries straight through to us. That's why our
www.backissuenewspapers.co.uk has proved so successful.
Here are some of the reasons why our customers buy a back dated newspaper.
- They feature in the newspaper; often we are asked for a back copy of a newspaper
because our customers, or one of their friends or relatives, have appeared in a
story. It is always nice to have for posterity a copy of the newspaper in which
they appeared for their 15 minutes of fame.
- PR companies; often need a newspaper back edition in which they have achieved newspaper
coverage for their clients. Whilst most provide their clients with a newspaper cuttings
service, there is nothing better than to have a physical copy of a newspaper, particularly
- Solicitors; they sometimes need to review newspaper coverage of cases that they
are involved in, so coming to www.backissuenewspapers.co.uk is the simplest way
to access these newspapers.
- Newsagents; they send back any unsold newspapers immediately after the date of publication,
so if one of their customers goes back for a past newspaper, they would no longer
have it available. Many newsagents use our back issue newspaper service to supply
their customers with the old newspaper they need.

Back Dated Newspaper Pricing
The prices of our past newspapers depend on their age. We classify backdated newspapers
as being those papers up to 9 months old.
0-3 months: If you are looking for yesterday’s newspaper or any recent newspaper
up to 3 months old, the cost is £6.99 for a Monday to Friday newspaper and £9.99
for a Saturday or Sunday Newspaper. This cost includes postage and packing.
4–6 months: Past newspapers that are 4-6 months old are priced at £9.99 (Monday
to Friday) or £15.99 (Saturday and Sunday). Includes P&P.
6-9 months: Newspaper back copies that are 6-9 months old cost £19.99 for Monday
to Friday papers and £29.99 for weekend newspapers.
Nearly 90% of back issues purchased are from the past month. The reason that weekend
newspapers are more expensive is that firstly the cover price is significantly higher,
and secondly, the weight of the weekend papers are very much greater. If you consider
the number of supplements now included in weekend newspapers today, the weight means
that postage costs can be considerably higher.
After nine months, our back issues are classified as Historic Newspapers. If you
are looking for a past newspaper that is older than 9 months, visit our sister website,
We have the UK’s largest archive of genuine original newspapers dating back over
200 years. You can select any date of your choice. Our historic newspapers come
with a range of quality gift presentations and can be further personalised with
a Certificate of Authenticity.
